#1 Isernia

During the first co-construction session organized at Isernia, the partners brought together a group of 23 international students and 15 teachers to involve them as beta testers in the project. The preservation of cultural and natural heritage was the central theme of the week’s program, which included conferences and visits to archaeological sites. Brainstorming sessions were held to gather ideas, comments and feedback on the game, as well as testing sessions. 17 different countries were represented.

#2 Isernia

During the second week of the consortium meeting in Isernia, a group of students from various academic backgrounds and countries took part in a week of exchange and co-creation around the game Herit-Aware. Brainstorming sessions were held to explore different aspects of the game, allowing students to share their thoughts and discuss specific themes. The section concerning the game's economy was developed during this time. In parallel, students and professors participated in a serious role-playing game, Ars Custodia, specially created for the occasion by Gabriele L.F. Berruti and Lorenzo Testi.

September 2024

Les Eyzies

During the third consortium meeting, this time held in Les Eyzies in the Dordogne region, the progress of the video game was presented to the project evaluator, along with improvement proposals and future ambitions. Partner meetings followed, focusing on the selection of new modules to be added in future versions of the game. The idea of integrating artificial intelligence into the game was ultimately set aside, in order to ensure the highest possible level of scientific accuracy for players.

Narrative

In the near future, after a series of disasters that devastated part of the world’s cultural and natural heritage, Herit-Aware, an international agency dedicated to heritage preservation, was established. The agency deploys agents to gather information and to explore sensitive areas. Equipped with advanced technology, their mission is to analyze the terrain, establish contact with local populations, and collect any relevant information. Once they’ve identified challenges, they must chose the right initiatives to prevent any heritage loss.
